Staffing music festivals: shifts, access and brand areas

Festival days are long and the sites are huge. Teams do better when they arrive knowing where they will be stationed and what they need to achieve there.

Long shifts

Days can finish in the early hours. Plan shifts and breaks so that nobody spends too many hours in a row at the same point, and think about food, water and how the team gets home once public transport has stopped.

Access

The entrance brings a lot of people through in a short time: ticket or wristband checks, directions and dealing with problems. Strengthen the team for those hours and keep the rest for when the crowd is already inside.

Brand areas

If staff are working in a sponsor’s space, they need to know the brand’s goal: collecting sign-ups, handing out samples or bringing people to an activity. Without that, the space fills up with visits that leave nothing behind.

Heat, rain and dust

Uniforms have to suit the weather and many hours on your feet. Plan shaded rest areas for the team.

Coordination on a large site

You need a coordinator on site and a clear channel for reporting anything. At A10 staff clock in with the app from their station, so you can see at any moment who is there and who is missing.

If you are preparing a festival or a brand activation at one, tell us the dates, the site and the points to cover.
